The successful choral series HCCS, “Helbling Choral Concert Series” provides choir directors with the kind of repertoire that they have always asked for: easy for amateurs to sing, in keeping with the times, with a great diversity of style and content, and above all suitable for the widest variety of performances – concertante, festive, contemplative or convivial.
As both editor and composer and arranger, Lorenz Maierhofer has created a choral series which year after year meets every conceivable demand with an inspiring new programme of 30 choral pieces. At the beginning of every year, a presentation CD with 70 minutes of choral music is released, accompanied by a choral catalogue containing detailed information on every piece.
Already tremendously popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the HCCS choral series has also found its way into the repertoires of many choirs in other countries. Today, HCCS already ranks as one of the most successful choral series, and well beyond the German-speaking area.
The content of this choral series includes both sacred and secular music – for the most part a cappella, for a variety of formations and levels of difficulty, for mixed choir, female-voice choir and male-voice choir. The HCCS programme spans a broad range of styles, from selected pieces from earlier centuries to numerous compositions for concertante and festive occasions, from compositions and arrangements in the areas of rock, pop and evergreen to ethno, folk and gospel.
The sheet music for each of the choral pieces – which can be ordered in choir sets – also contains a piano reduction of the choral arrangement for rehearsals. At points throughout the sheet music you will find important information on the piece itself, on its interpretation and on the pronunciation of the lyrics. All of the texts accompanying the internationally oriented HCCS choral series are available from beginning to end in both German and English.
